It's bloghop time! Who feels like a hooker today?

I am so running behind this morning. Ack. So here it is. The wonderful ladies over at falling4fiction are hosting a bloghop. You post the first sentence to your chapters today, then on Wed. you post the last sentence to your chapters. You can post as many as you'd like, but only the first three chapter hookers and hangers will be judged. Hope that makes sense. Each of the five ladies will pick their favorite 2 entries for a total of ten winners, then they will give their picks a ten pages critique. Yay!

Okay lets bring out my hookers :)

Genre: YA narrative memoir
Title: PERFECTLY BROKEN

Chapter one- I know at any moment he'll kill me.

Chapter two- I've been sitting in this closet sized room for two hours giving my statement, but it's more like I'm being interrogated.

Chapter three- It's been less than a day since I was kidnapped and raped, and yet I'm expected to function like a normal human being.

Chapter four- It's like this has all been some kind of crazy nightmare.

Chapter five- I sit up in bed to the sound of mom calling, "Amber it's time to go to school."

Chapter six- When that monster was captured, I went through an entire day of bliss, unafraid.

Chapter seven- Today I meet my attorney.

Chapter eight- I'm in Mrs. B.B.'s class, trying to stay awake.

Chapter nine- My lawyer turned out to be pretty awesome at her job.

Chapter ten- It has been three days since Jason asked me to read the book of JOB, but I've been putting it off, trying to find anything to do except read the bible.

Chapter eleven- This morning there's a bounce in my step.

Chapter twelve- I've survived the school year.

Chapter thirteen- I hug Sam first, then mom.

Chapter fourteen- The smell of Spain is engulfing.

Chapter fifteen- Irene's dad pulls to a stop and turns to face us.

Chapter sixteen- I sleep longer and harder than I have in a long time.

Chapter seventeen- It takes me forever to pick out what to wear.

Chapter eighteen- Irene tells me we're going shopping today.

Chapter nineteen- I am officially ruined.

Chapter twenty- It's my last twenty-four hours in Spain and all I want to do is cry.

Chapter twenty-one- Home is not where my heart is.

Chapter twenty-two- Let's face it, everyone falls victim to something at some point in their lives, but so few of us ever fight back.

Chapter twenty-three- My hands are trembling.

Chapter twenty-four- "It's time," Mrs. Hammond says, calling me to give my testimony.

Chapter twenty-five- Eleven years later-
I’m lying in bed just as naked as a jay bird. There isn’t much I own that still fits me. These days I am the size of a house. About the only the thing I’m comfortable in is my birthday suit, and it’s fitting, since today is my birthday. I am officially twenty-seven. I also happen to be a whopping thirty-five weeks pregnant.

(I thought I'd put the first paragraph just for fun)

Okay, well there's the line-up of my ms. I figured I'd go ahead and put them all out there :)

I loved how I could follow the main events of your story through these lines. It sounds like a great book. I especially loved the lines about Spain.

Loved this one: Let's face it, everyone falls victim to something at some point in their lives, but so few of us ever fight back.

This whole story is a strong hook! Your chapters are a good reflection of it for sure.

So good Amber! I love following the story through your hookers, especially cause you get the tone easily, watching a peace sort of sneak in, then chapter 19 hits. So sad :( And I'm glad you added the para from 25! Can't wait to finish this story!

I love that you posted all of the firsts for the entire book! It's like reading the story in miniature. you get a real sense of the characters strength and how it changes throughout the book. There are so many great ones, I think my favorites are: 19 and 22

Amber, you are an amazing writer. I am feeling the fear, anxiety and relief jumping right off the screen. It sounds like very poignant story that would have me crying from the very beginning.

The first line of ch.1 was awesome, but I love this one too:

Home is not where my heart is.
