Woo-hoo! It's query day, and mine is up for viewing

Today is the day for my query to be introduced over at the amazing blog of Matt's.  If you aren't already following him you need to do so now!! His query critiques are so wonderful.  Go there right now and check out my query!...Okay that was pretty demanding. Would you please hop over to Matt's Blog (<---click here)and check it out? (Better?)

I am pretty excited to have my query up for others to read, but I must admit it is a bit terrifying :/  I can just envision all of the red ink tomorrow. hehe... But in all honesty, I'm just thrilled to be one step closer to getting my wip in shape for querying.

In the words of my friend Jade- "Will this be a gentle rough up or a brutal beat down?"  Eek :-D

Hah! I promise to be gentle.

But here's the thing: queries are hard. You should have seen me back when, when I sucked so bad at them for so long until I finally got fed up, and learned how to do it (hopefully) right. I think it's great you've got the courage to let me break yours down. That way we can all learn together.

And I'll also say this: your query is already pretty good. I mean sure, it needs a little work, they all do, but it's clear you've got a cool story, so you're off to a good start.

Thanks Matt, I'm just so grateful for the help! And excited to learn how to improve. There is always room for improvement and I am very much still learning and growing as a writer, so I am looking forward to all of the wonderful tips :)

Yeah, I am a big fan of what Matt does with a query. He has a gift at seeing what I never can. Can't wait!

Hi there! I found you through Matt's blog - and we'll all be gentle tomorrow. :-) Queries are hard, and it's great that you're willing to have yours publicly critiqued so we can all learn something.

Hey Amber :)
I've mentioned you on my blog :) Hope you had a great day. I'm knackered but love the critique you got on your query letter. They all agreed your story sounds wicked - which I totally agree with :) x

Hi there, new follower here :-)

I've been planning to write some Christian fantasy fiction - I just haven't been brave enough yet! So I'm curious to see what you've done with the genre :-)

xx Rachel

@Amy, - Mat is wonderful as well as everyone else who pitches in some advice. I highly recommend it! And I will hop over to your blog and check out the q&a.

@Cassie- who-hoo, I'm on your blog! Awesome...I'll be by to see in just a few :)

@Rachel- it is very fulfilling to do what I love about what I love, and just jumble it all together and see what comes out. Throw in some action, fantasy, maybe even a little horror and romance, and weave it with a Christian base. It's fun :) I'm a huge fan of LOTR, though I try to be completely original, but just following in that form of genre :) thanks for following, I'll pop by and follow you as well, if I'm not already :)
