Today: Dialogue Introduction: Have two characters introduce each other using only dialogue--no backstory, no internalization, just dialogue between the two. Max 250 words. --Here it is, and since I couldn't use internilization, I color coated the conversation so nobody got confused. Red- is Steve, a seventeen year old, laid back, surfer kinda boy. And purple is Kid- who many of you met Monday, is a rude boy with jersey-slang.

“Dude, there’s somebody I want you to meet.”
“Man, don’t you know I gots’ betta things—ohh… well, heya good lookin’.”
“You’ll have to excuse him Amber. They don’t have manners on his planet. We call him Kid, seeing as how he’ll never mature past puberty.”
“Yeah, whateva’. They call me Kid cause they aint intelligent enough to pronounce my name in its native tongue.”
“And because you look like a ten year old boy. My name’s Steve. I’m the local mind reader.”
“Yeah, more like the local big mouth. This punk here thinks he can blab ‘bout anyone’s thoughts.”
“Like you’re any better. Don’t think I don’t know when you’re spying on everyone. You see Amber, Kid can blend with his background, making him impossible to see. It’s great when we’re hunting, but not much use for it when we’re just chillin’ in the cave.”
“I can fight too.”
“Haha, yeah I’ll give you that. This little four-foot nothing is like a squirrel on crack. It’s hilarious to see Gabe try and get him. Where’s Gabe by the way? Anyways, you’ll meet him later. He’s this goofy giant who is always scrappin’ with Kid. Bahaha, it’s so funny to see Kid, who’s a third of Gabe’s size, with Gabe pinned to the ground having to tap out. You’d think ‘ole hot-hands would learn his lesson. But I’d be lying if I said I never rooted for Gabe. Bahaha”
“Hell, I see where your loyalties are.”
And that's Steve and Kid. Hope you enjoyed, now it's time for me to hop along and check out everyone else's posts :)

Great post Amber, can totally visualize the bantering :) Hope you're well :) We've been busy renovating but can't wait for more chapters if you've got them :)
Great conversation - love that I'm not quite sure where they are - got me interested!
Wow. I loved this. Totally interested the whole way through. Such distinct voices!
This dialogue intrigues me. Makes me want to read the rest of the story. I hope 'Kid' can rise above the taunts and put downs of his contemporaries.
thanks everyone for the comments. It has been fun watching my characters come to life. Kid and Steve are the supporting-comic relief characters and it has been fun developing them. I think this bloghop has helped me really get to their spunky side as well. I'm nearing the end of my book and Kid has just been taken by the bad guys. So it's time for everyone to step up to the plate.--But there will be betrayal and death...can't be predictable ; ) Gotta keep my cp on her toes. haha
LOL. Love the characters, and love the "squirrel on crack" statement! haha. That's awesome. They sound so cool! Great job!
Highly entertaining! Some really good lines. Good job!
Lol, I love the dialect these two have! And the awesome dynamic. They can really play off each other really naturally :)
Great job!
Kid is really growing on me. It seems like your creating a really interesting world.
Thanks for the heads up Amber. I didn't see this yesterday. I just saw the Inspirational words post and I kept checking back, but it looks like I should have scrolled down :) Sorry.
Your characters are so funny. A squirrel on crack. LOL! Sounds like my kids. I love the voice in this piece :) Great job. Sorry I'm a late commenter.
Yes, I can see Kid and Gabe. Interesting characters :)
